NEW HAVEN POLICE STEP-UP MOTORCYCLE ENFORCEMENT AND IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE IN EAST SHORE COMMUNITY

(5/4/2009) NEW HAVEN- During a targeted enforcement effort over the weekend in the City’s East Shore District, New Haven Police issued 43 speeding citations and 27 unnecessary noise violations. Officers also cited 10 Motorcycles with improper mufflers, seized 3 dirt bikes and served 1 felony warrant as the result of a traffic stop. This operation responded to many citizen complaints about cars speeding and loud motorcycles in the District. The weekend enforcement effort was achieved under the direction of Lt Jeff Hoffman.
